Comfort & Feel

The Nectar Premier has a medium firmness that strikes an impressive balance. The top 3-inch gel memory foam layer contours immediately when you lie down, creating that signature “hug” feeling without the quicksand sensation of some memory foam mattresses. The dynamic response foam layer beneath adds just enough bounce to prevent that stuck feeling. Side sleepers will appreciate the pressure relief on shoulders and hips — our pressure mapping showed significantly lower pressure points compared to the original Nectar.

Temperature Regulation

The cooling cover feels noticeably cool to the touch and the gel-infused foam does an effective job of dissipating heat. In our 76°F controlled testing room, the mattress surface stayed within 2°F of ambient temperature throughout the night — a strong result for an all-foam mattress. Hot sleepers may still want a hybrid, but for memory foam, the Nectar Premier performs well.

Motion Isolation

Excellent. Our motion detection tests showed minimal transfer across the mattress surface. One partner can get up, roll over, or adjust position without disturbing the other. This is a standout feature for couples.

Edge Support

The high-density base foam provides adequate edge support for sitting and sleeping near the perimeter. It is not exceptional — you will notice some compression when sitting on the edge — but it is sufficient for most users. Couples who share a smaller bed may want to consider a hybrid with reinforced edges.

Durability Expectations

With a 12-inch profile, CertiPUR-US certified foams, and a lifetime warranty, the Nectar Premier is built to last. Memory foam mattresses typically have a lifespan of 8-10 years. The high-density base foam (7 inches) should prevent the sagging that plagues thinner, lower-density competitors.

Value Assessment

At $799 (Queen) with a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty, the Nectar Premier represents exceptional value. Comparable mattresses from Casper, Tempur-Pedic, and Purple cost $1,200-$2,500+ with shorter trials. The price-to-performance ratio is the best in its class.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the Nectar trial period?

365 nights — that is a full year. If you do not love it, Nectar will arrange free pickup and issue a full refund with no restocking fees.

Does the Nectar Premier sleep hot?

It sleeps cooler than most all-foam mattresses thanks to the gel-infused foam and breathable Tencel cover. However, if you are an extremely hot sleeper, a hybrid mattress with coil airflow may be a better choice.

What is the difference between Nectar and Nectar Premier?

The Premier adds an extra inch of gel memory foam (3” vs 2”), a more advanced cooling cover, and improved pressure relief. It is worth the $200 upgrade for side sleepers and hot sleepers.

How long does Nectar take to expand?

Most of the expansion happens within 4-6 hours, but full expansion can take 24-72 hours. You can sleep on it the first night, though it may feel slightly firmer until fully expanded.

Is the Nectar Premier good for heavy people?

The Premier supports up to 650 lbs total (or ~325 lbs per sleeper for couples). For individual sleepers over 250 lbs, the Nectar Premier should still provide adequate support, though a hybrid with coil support may be more durable long-term.

Bottom Line

The best balance of pressure relief, cooling, and value. An exceptional all-rounder with an unbeatable 365-night trial.
